Fiona Friday - Pretty in Red

I lucked out and got a decent photo of Fiona, last week. Love the look of her dark fur against the red. I'll have to remember how good she looks against red if I ever get her a collar. The kitties don't wear collars because they're indoors-only but I've been thinking I might need to get them collars just in case they ever accidentally end up outdoors.

  1. She does look lovely in red. I don't have collars for my kitties either. I'm afraid they'll just rip them off. Maybe if I'd started young.

    1. I haven't put collars on mine because I figured they'd end up getting caught on something. I had a cat nearly hang herself by the collar, in my childhood, so I guess I can't help but think about that. But, I've put decorative collars (with bows) on the kitties during Christmas season and after the initial, "What is this and why are you trying to kill me?" look and the repetitive attempts to remove them, they do eventually become accustomed to wearing a collar. So, there's that.

  2. My cat does get out and I really should get a collar for her, but it makes me nervous she will get stuck somewhere. Plus, she would likely have it off herself in about 10 seconds.

    1. We had a cat get her collar stuck on a fence (childhood cat -- Dad saw it and untangled the collar in time) so, yeah, there's a real possibility it could cause trouble. But, if they're going out, I think it's best for them to wear collars in case they wander. Here, they're supposed to wear proof of rabies vaccine, although I remained blissfully ignorant and always tossed those little tags aside when I had indoor-outdoor cats. Funny to look back on that and realize that I didn't pay attention to that requirement at all. I don't know what I was thinking. I'm pretty sure they make tear-away collars to keep cats from getting hung up on anything, actually. You might want to look into that.
